Making of a Quality Pool Table

Billiard or pool tables have been a way of recreation for hundreds of years. They had been 1st produced in 15th century France as a game for the nobility to play. It was modified from a game that was played outdoors on grass, which is why the pool table felt (cloth) is traditionally green.

A Slate Pool Table stands for quality since the early 19th century.

Various materials have been adopted in producing pool tables but, for the table bed (playing surface), the preferably best material of choice since the early 19th century has been slate. Still today, a table bed produced of top quality slate will make your game far more enjoyable as the balls will be able to execute a lot more precisely and smoothly. Beds can be created either from 1 large piece of slate or a 3 piece slate. While the 3 piece slate needs assembly, the slate weight of the large ones is so heavy, that it might sag over time.
